Peter Bedggood started to make Custom Caravan Annexes in 1976 with his wife Helen who was the business manager, much like today where Adam is on the tools creating Annexes and Awnings for our Customers and Samantha is giving the most personalised customer service available in the Annex industry.
Peter learnt design and pattern making in the shoe trade, which he believes was the cornerstone that influenced the high quality of design and finish of the canvas Annexes and vinyl awnings.The opportunity to establish his own business, named Peter Bedggood Canvases came about int 1976, Peter and Helen began the business with two employees and began to develop a loyal customer base within the caravan industry.
The business, over 25 years, was focused on making high quality products in both canvas and vinyl. Peter was making marques, tents, pool liners and covers, tarpaulins fabricated by both sewing and high frequency welding.
After 25 yrs of running the business, the opportunity for Adam and Sam to take over the business was presented. Having learnt the trade under Peter, Adam had developed the same passion for attention to detail, quality finishes and delivering a premium product. With the good wishes of Peter, it was time for the business to evolve and the business Alpine Annexes people know and love today was born.
The growing caravan market in Australia and a passion that Samantha and Adam had for caravaning themselves, it was a natural journey to start to focus on the custom Annex. It’s this passion that allows them to relate to the customers they have, from the moment that you contact them, engaging with Samantha and her knowledge of not only their product, but the real life use of them in a camping environment, all the way to Adam, knowing why straight lines matter, walls that don’t ripple are imperative and a well thought out design is the difference between functional caravan trips vs think I wish we had of thought of that before we bought our annex.
