Peter Bedggood started making custom caravan annexes in 1977, with his wife Helen as business manager. It’s much the same today: Adam is on the tools creating annexes and awnings, and Samantha gives the most personalised customer service in the annexe industry.

Peter learnt design and pattern making in the shoe trade, which he believes was the cornerstone of the high quality design and finish of his canvas annexes and vinyl awnings. He and Helen started Peter Bedggood Canvases with two employees and built a loyal customer base within the caravan industry, making everything from annexes and awnings to marquees, tents, pool covers and tarpaulins.

After 25 years, the opportunity came for Adam and Sam to take over. Having learnt the trade under Peter, Adam shared the same passion for attention to detail, quality finishes and a premium product. With Peter’s good wishes, the business evolved into the Alpine Annexes people know and love today.

With Australia’s caravan market growing and Sam and Adam’s own passion for caravanning, focusing on custom annexes was a natural step. That passion means they understand how their products are really used at camp, from Sam’s product knowledge to Adam knowing why straight lines matter, why walls shouldn’t ripple, and why a well-thought-out design makes all the difference on the road.
